About Centro Books
Welcome to Centro Books, a new
addition to the independent publishing community. Our mission
is to reprint the old and import the new—bring
readers enjoyment and entertainment unfettered by the passage of time
and place—and to share our finds with you in the hope that you
will enjoy them as much as we do.
About Lori Zarahn
As an undergraduate at Emerson College
in Boston, I wanted to write soap operas. After getting a BA in Mass Communications
there, I moved to Los Angeles, where I spent the next 16 years
waiting for snow. I studied screenwriting at the American
Film Institute, worked on several TV shows, and edited a few low-budget
movies. In between film-editing gigs, I worked in my favorite
places: bookstores.
I love books. I love everything about them. I have been
a bookseller in chain bookstores and independents, a store manager,
a national buyer for Barnes & Noble, a National Account Manager
for Random House and Holtzbrinck, and I’ve worked for small
independent publishers. When the opportunity presented itself
to start my own independent publishing company, I jumped at it.
